What RailChase is for

RailChase is a community board for real train sightings. Every post should help other rail fans find and photograph trains. If your post would not belong on a railfan forum, it does not belong here.

The rules

1. Real sightings only

Only post sightings of trains you actually saw, at the location where you saw them. False or fabricated posts mislead other chasers and will be removed.

2. Trains in photos

Photos must show a train. Photos that do not depict rail equipment will be removed by the automated moderation system or by a moderator.

3. No identifying information about individuals

Do not post photos that clearly identify private individuals -- faces, license plates, or other identifiers -- unless those individuals are public figures photographed in a public capacity.

4. No spam or duplicates

One post per sighting. Do not submit the same sighting multiple times. Do not use automated tools to submit posts.

5. No harmful content

No sexually explicit, violent, harassing, threatening, or illegal content. No content that violates the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.

6. Stay safe and legal

Do not trespass on railroad property to get a shot. Obey all railroad and public safety rules. RailChase takes no responsibility for decisions made in the field.

Enforcement

Posts are screened by automated moderation at submission time. Any user can report a post using the flag button. Posts that receive 3 or more reports are automatically hidden pending review. We may remove any post at any time for any reason, with or without notice. Repeated violations may result in loss of posting access.
